Daisuke Yokota was born in 1983.
He graduated from the Nippon Photography Institute in Tokyo.

His work questions the relationship between memory, images and sensations. He draws from his personal photographic archives and manipulates them chemically, working layer upon layer as layers of consciousness and memories. He questions photography as a material of memory that is both visual and sonic, often referring to the concepts of echo and reverberations.

In 2015, Yokota's work was exhibited at the Shashin: Photography from Japan festival in New York as well as at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston during the exhibition In the Wake: Japanese Photographers Respond to 3/11. The same year, he participated in the group exhibition Another Language: 8 Japanese Photographers organized by Simon Baker at the Rencontres d’Arles. As a winner of the Outset I Unseen Exhibition Fund (2013), in 2014 he presented his work in a monographic exhibition at the FOAM Museum in Amsterdam
