Born in 1983, Saitama, Japan.
Majored in Photography at Nippon Photography Institute in Tokyo, 2003
Destruction and reconstruction, reproduction of the reproduction, exploration of the materials out of their primary function, criticism and pioneering in the art system.
The artist is at the frontline of a new movement of Japanese experimental photographers. Yokota is working out of, and pushing forward, a Japanese photography tradition that harks back to the intuitive experimentation of the Provoke and Camp generation.
